Artist's Comments

Well...its been awhile since I've sat down and done a detailed piece. I've had a photograph by Frantisek Staud laying around for awhile now that I knew would be a wonderful subject to paint. Frantisek Staud does some wonderful travel photography for you unaware of his tallent. His work is definatly worth taking a look at.

Anyways... Here they are two precious Geisha girls sitting out front of a beautiful building. The girls were surprisingly easier than the building to paint. Using white instead of skintones on a face with shades of grey makes the human face easier to paint lol.

The building....took...me...forever. Too much detail in hindsight I should have chosen a simplier subject to paint. Just kidding. =)

I love the softness to it! It gives it a great feel, but it does make my eye water. ;)

Wow. That's amazing. At least you did all the detail on the building and didn't rush it. You got the shadows in there really nice too.

Thank you for noticing the lighting.

Lighting is my strong suit so to speak as well as my favorite part of the painting process so I love it when someone complements me on that aspect.

And thank you to all for your comments and support. =)
